Ben Stockman - CHAIR
Ben Stockman is Principal of NICHEZ LLC, a premier Denver-based creative agency of 15 years. NICHEZ has been successfully building the Foundation's brand on print and digital mediums since 2005. NICHEZ' dedication and loyalty to the mission of the Chanda Plan is steadfast. Ben brings 15 years of branding and communications expertise to the board as the Foundation embarks on a new chapter of growth, impact and awareness in the community.
Amy Reid - Secretary
Amy currently serves as the Director of Marketing at Accessible Systems, a grass roots local home modification and medical equipment solutions provider. Since 2008, Accessible Systems has been a sponsor at the Chanda Plan Foundation’s annual gala, People To Know and helps thousands of Coloradoans live with independence in the comfort of their home. Amy brings 16 years of medical marketing and business development experience to the board. In her role at Accessible Systems she creates sustainable relationships with local non-profit organizations, industry partners, the VA, state level organizations like Medicaid and therapy departments in rehabilitation hospitals and skilled nursing facilities. Her compassion and enthusiasm to help others is magnetic. She is honored to serve the Chanda Plan Foundation.
Ryan Martorano - Treasurer
Ryan is the Chief Estimator for Hensel Phelps Construction Co. He has been employed with Hensel Phelps for over 18 years and has over $5 billion in construction experience. Ryan is a Certified Professional Constructor as designated by the American Institute of Constructors and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management from Colorado State University. In 1998 Ryan was in an accident and suffered a spinal cord injury. As a result, he has a personal understanding regarding the value of integrated healthcare that the Chanda Plan Foundation is providing, which makes being involved a natural fit for Ryan. Native to Colorado, Ryan enjoys spending his free time with friends and family, woodworking and supporting the local sports teams.
Melissa Winthers - Member
Melissa Winthers practices in the areas of personal injury and medical malpractice and has obtained awards ranging from tens of thousands of dollars to several million dollars. She was named a Super Lawyer's Rising Star for 2013 and has received the highest ethical and professional rating by national published Martindatle Hubble (AV Rating). Ms. Winthers was invited to join The National Trial Lawyer's top 100 litigation attorneys as well as the American Society of Legal Advocates Top 40 under 40. She currently serves as the President-Elect of the Brain Injury Alliance of Colorado, the only state-wide organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for survivors of brain injury and serves as the Secretary of The Chanda Plan Foundation which provides access to integrative therapies for people living with disabilities. She also served on the Board of Directors of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association.
Ryan Zeiger - Member
Ryan Zeiger is the CEO of Personal Assistance Services Provider of Colorado (PASCO), a long term services and supports home care agency with over 22 years of history serving seniors and people with disabilities in the Front Range. He is also a licensed CNA and regularly provides direct care and services to the clients that PASCO serves. Ryan serves as co-chair for Colorado Long-term Assistance Services Providers (CLASP), an industry group of providers who advocate for consumer choice and consumer direction in long term, community based services through policy and legislative action. He is also a member of Health Care Policy and Financing's Participant Directed Programs Policy Collaborative, a group focused on improving key consumer directed long term services programs in Colorado. As a member, Ryan brings this consumer directed provider perspective to the Workforce, Regulatory, and Care Coordination sub-committees of the governor's Community Living Advisory Group, a group which is focused on redesigning Colorado's long term community based support services to better meet the needs of people with disabilities and seniors. Ryan lives in Denver with his wife Megan and two young boys.
Candy Tefetiller - Member
Candy Tefertiller, PT, DPT, ATP, NCS, is the Director of Physical Therapy at Craig Hospital. Candy received a BS in Biology from Mount Olive College in 1997 and a master’s in Physical Therapy from East Carolina University in 2000. She then completed a Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Rocky Mountain Health Care University in 2008. Candy has been working in the field of neurological rehabilitation since 2000. She received an assistive technology practitioner (ATP) certification in 2005 and became a certified neurological clinical specialist (NCS) in 2007. She has been involved in numerous research projects and has focused much of her career on interventions and program development promoting recovery after neurologic injury or disease. Candy is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Neurologic Section.
Mazen Mukayess - Member
Maz has a Master’s Degree in Marketing from the University of Colorado in Denver. He has an Assistive Technology Professional certification from RESNA for assisting in selecting appropriate assistive technology for consumers with disabilities. Maz worked for Invacare corporation for 10 years with experience in respiratory therapy, wound care management and seating and mobility products. Maz was awarded the pinnacle of achievement during his tenure at Invacare and received the EP Nalley Sales Excellence Award. Maz is now the Sales Manager for EarlySense for the Mountain states and assists hospitals and post-acute facilities in providing continuous and contact free patient monitoring technology to improve clinical outcomes.
Erin Flores - Member
Erin Flores is the Vice President of Client Relations and Principal at Philanthropy Expert, which leverages philanthropy in groundbreaking ways to maximize impenetrable, creative and lasting solutions for its clients. Having worked at the company since its inception, Erin has played a critical role in effectively guiding a diverse range of clients to achieve purposeful, strategic and rewarding fundraising efforts. She received a Bachelor’s of Arts in International Affairs with an emphasis in Latin American studies from the University of Colorado. Erin is a Colorado transplant originally from Fargo, North Dakota and lives in Parker with her husband and their Belgian Shepard where their hobbies include enjoying Colorado’s many outdoor activities, cooking and traveling as often as they get the chance.
Marty Lesica - Member
Marty Lesica brings 42 years of healthcare experience to the Chanda Plan Foundation BOD. His experience includes work in long-term care, physical rehabilitation, and acute care medicine, all of which have focused on serving individuals with neurological diseases, disorders, or disabilities. Marty’s leadership roles and contribution to the healthcare industry include: Administrative Surveyor for the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities in Tuscon, Arizona; President of the Wisconsin Chapter of the Society for Hospital Social Work Directors; Vice Chairperson for the Wisconsin Council on Physical Disabilities; and Council Representative for the Governor's Committee for People with Disabilities. He is a member of other various organizations including the Greater Milwaukee Chapter of the National Spinal Cord Injury Association; the Milwaukee Task Force for Chemical Abuse Among Persons with Other Disabilities; the National Advisory Committee for Spinal Cord Injury Systems of Care for the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. In the State of Wisconsin, Marty serves as a member in the Department of Health and Family Services' Physical Disabilities, Long Term Care Steering Committee and the Department of Public Health's Turning Point Initiative, the Intentional and Unintentional Injuries and Violence Subcommittee.
Barry martin - Member
Dr. Barry Martin is a family medicine doctor in Aurora, Colorado and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Children’s Hospital Colorado and the University of Colorado Hospital. He received his medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in Shreveport and has been in practice for more than 20 years. He has served as Medical Director of the Denver Adult Down Syndrome Clinic since 2007. Dr. Martin is a member of the National Down Syndrome Congress and the Down Syndrome Medical Interest Group. In addition, Dr. Martin is the Vice President of Clinical Affairs at Metro Community Provider Network, and an Associate Clinical Professor of Family Practice at the University of Colorado at Denver and Health Sciences Center. When he’s not helping patients, he spends his time enjoying the outdoors with his family.
Lee Fisher - Member
Lee Fisher has been a licensed acupuncturist in the state of Colorado since 1990. She has maintained a private practice for the last 28 years and is currently semi retired and working part time. She started and volunteered for several years at a free clinic treating military veterans with acupuncture for PTSD and spent a month in Nepal treating in rural communities with Acupuncturists Without Borders. She has been a long time supporter of the Chanda Plan Foundation, knowing firsthand through personal and professional experiences, the power of integrative therapies to help people with disabilities and chronic illnesses. Lee also has a Degree in Nursing and worked at Craig Hospital for several years as a nurses aide, a RN in both Medical and Neuro-Trauma Intensive Care Units and as a Home Health Nurse providing services to people with disabilities. She is a co-founder, former Director of Nursing and former owner of Personal Assistance Services of Colorado (PASCO).
